To The Happiest of Holidays

Come do your holiday shopping at the Cynthia Vincent boutique!  We're chalk full of amazing gift items like ikat pouches, Aztec ballerina flats, printed scarves, and a little leopard print for everyone.
You can get one for you-one for them (don't worry we won't tell)!

It's also our first winter in New York so we decided to have a little holiday shin dig.
To celebrate this year, Cynthia Vincent decided to collaborate with local public school PS9.  Spearheaded by The Less is More Project, some of the PS9 kids assisted us in decorating our windows this time around; the installation is a colorful combination of reclaimed leather hexagonal shapes in tons of different colors strung on a cotton string and hung in our window-so festive!

On top of helping us with our window display, PS9 and Cynthia Vincent spent a day together designing signature pouches that will be available for purchase during our holiday party. And in the spirit of the holidays, a  portion of the evenings sales will be donated to PS9!

On Tuesday December 20th from 6:30 to 8:30 we'll be offering 15% off full priced merchandise, 40% off of our Fall collection and of course, cocktails!  So come join the celebration and be jolly!

Warm Wishes for the Holidays,
Chelsea & Julia

We said K/LLER QUILLS, they said, yes they do.

What happens when forces of nature collide?...

.

They simultaneously combine to form a K/LLER jewelry collection that juxtaposes the dark and the sweet; the hard and the soft.  It's like cross-breeding the dangerous with the elite and the androgynous
with the exotic. What more could a woman want?... except radical pieces from  K/LLER that beautifully mends porcupine quills with drippings of welded metals, leathers and other oddities.

The magical masterminds behind the jewels, who I happen to have a slight crush on, is the duo Katie deGuzman and Michael Miller...Yes, it's true I do, they're like unicorns to me! In a way they almost complete each other... both magically rad in their own ways they mix together pure gypsy and dark knight, but in the most fierce, feminine of ways!

So here's a sneak peak at what were about to be carrying in our store on good ol' Elizabeth Street!!!!

Heartbeats.

I was searching for ideas, concepts, anything visual to inspire me and ignite my imagination.... and Wow did I find it! We modern Gypsies at CV have been on this kick of Embracing Love in every way possible.... sounds cheesy, but it's true!
So I stumbled upon this incredible site that literally almost took my breath away.

It is ode to the gloriousness of all women in the universe.
Heroines, a website dedicated to the project of embracing women in their skin; our wholeness, our perfectly imperfect flaws and our courage to be exactly who we are beautifully.
Heroines from everywhere can submit their stories and pictures of what it's like being them by showcasing everything that we are and are constantly becoming.

How R A D I C AL

(It's like sharing secrets and whispering them into the universe of infinite love)
::through::
self expression
style
and
skin.

a celebration of embracing and acknowledging
who we are right now.

So this is what's inspiring us.... feast your eyes out because we are all so fierce!
As one of my old, dear friends once said to me, "We are forces to be reckoned with!"

Hope you all are having a beautiful start to your week!

now come visit us on Elizabeth Street!
xx

All Journeys Must Come to An End - Fez, Morocco

Chapter Four - Until We Meet Again

One of the highlights of my trip to Fez was a trip to two villages right outside of the city.  Some friends of my best friend Nina took us on an hour long road trip through some serious rain, but it was so worth it.  I was especially taken with the village of Sefrou and the amazing cooperatives of women and artisans creating some seriously beautiful crafts.  I felt like a total foreigner because these villages do not receive many tourists so I definitely got the stare down, as my friend Cassi did while wearing her Chanel ballet flats in muddy terrain.  It was pretty hilarious if I say so myself.  Below, some photos of villages we ventured to.

A weaver's studio in Sefrou.  They weave some of the most beautiful wool blankets I've ever seen complete with stripes and pom poms at each corner.  Stunning!

All donkeys all the time

Selling fresh mint to make mint tea

Fell in LOVE with all of this colorful yarn hanging from a doorway

We visited a cooperative with various artisans.  This studio focused on ceramics, and that's one of the guys smoothing out the clay.

Hand painting cups that are about to be fired

Vases

Ceramics on display

The kindest, more adorable man making blankets all day long

This was a women's co-op that made necklaces made from caftan buttons.  Amazing.

Me (third from the left) and my crew with one of the women in the co-op

Leaving the beautiful village of Sefrou

I leave you with two photos of the magical city of Fez.  So much beauty and inspiration.

This wraps up my Moroccan adventure!  I hope you've all enjoyed some photos and words from my journey and I hope to meet you again after my next adventure in...Mexico City.
